WiscNet Mobile Beacon Service

Mobile Beacon is a 4G/5G internet service that offers three connectivity solutions for high usage, low/backup usage, and mobile access via hotspots or SIM cards. Through a partnership with The Quilt, this service is available to WiscNet members starting at $8/month per device. The price to add a static IP is $5/month.

Mobile Beacon is a nonprofit that has access to both T-Mobile’s 4G and 5G networks. 5G is both the 5th version and the latest form of cellular network technology. 5G was first deployed in 2019 and now covers most of the nation’s population. It is both replacing and operating alongside existing 4G cellular networks. Any devices listed on mobilebeacon.org/hotspots are available, or you can use the SIM card in any device you already have that supports T-Mobile’s 4G and/or 5G networks.
