WiscNet Emergency Internet Kit

The WiscNet Emergency Internet Kit acts as a temporary lifeline for connectivity during a cyberattack, a natural disaster, or a devastating building failure that causes an entity’s primary internet connection to go offline. Available only to WiscNet members, the kit includes Wi-Fi routers, five 5G, unlimited Mobile Beacon hotspots, a Starlink satellite, a solar-powered battery and other cords and connective elements. After seeing a similar resource created by CENIC to help people affected by California wildfires, our staff was inspired to create a kit of its own. Over the years, the WiscNet community has helped connect people and strategies to strengthen members’ work in times of prosperity and despair. The Emergency Internet Kit assistance was born out of our staff’s genuine desire to help member organizations greatly affected by a disaster – because that’s exactly the kind of support that comes with being a WiscNet member. The power of membership allows WiscNet to not only provide services, but to act as a community catalyst for and with members. That’s why WiscNet is able to create and cover every cost of the WiscNet Emergency Internet Kit.
