WiscNet MiniConnections is a series of one-day, regional gatherings that make it easier for WiscNet members across more parts of the state to engage meaningfully within the community without long-distance travel or extended time away from home and work. At its heart, it's a smaller, regional version of the annual WiscNet Connections conference, designed to foster connections, support, and shared learning throughout the year in places closer to home.
For members, MiniConnections is an accessible way to tap into the WiscNet community without committing to a multi-day trip. WiscNet recognizes that the people are the "magic" of the annual membership meeting, and that creating that magic just once a year isn't enough. MiniConnections extends that energy around the state — community by community — rather than trying to recreate the full Connections experience wholesale.
Members can expect a full day blending leadership-focused sessions, practical technical content, and meaningful peer networking. Past programming has included leadership development sessions drawing on perspectives from longtime public education leaders, alongside technical presentations like the WiscNet Cybersecurity Runbook Generator aimed at making real-world tools less painful to build.
It's a chance to learn, share challenges, and strengthen connections with colleagues from libraries, schools, higher ed, municipalities, and hospitals nearby.
