New Network Participation Fee & Membership Fee | July 2010 to June 2011
On December 8, 2009, the WiscNet Board of Directors approved (1) a new method for setting internet access service fees, based only on mission and size of WiscNet member-institutions, and (2) a corresponding “network participation fee schedule” for all current and prospective WiscNet members. This schedule gives our "annually recurring" internet access service fees for the July 2010 – June 2011 fiscal year (identical to E-rate Funding Year 2010). The following fee schedule is also available to download as a PDF.

These decisions are the next steps in the WiscNet Board’s “Growing Smart” strategy and completely eliminate "bandwidth usage counting." We no longer predict or measure internet usage to set fees. We want our members to use and grow into your full capacity at no additional WiscNet cost.
For the annual fixed fee, WiscNet will provide ANY and ALL Internet access used by a WiscNet member during 2010-11. If you increase installed Internet transport capacity (“bandwidth” ordered from Teach WI/BCN or another vendor) during 2010-11, your annual WiscNet fixed fee for internet access will NOT increase. WiscNet will provide any and all new internet usage stimulated by new transport capacity.
WiscNet internet access service is E-rate eligible.
The WiscNet Board also approved the creation of a “membership” service and approved setting a separate, required annual membership fee of $1,000 for all WiscNet members for 2010-11. This fee is not eligible for E-rate discount.
