R3000 Filtering Instructions

Browse to http://205.213.111.19:88 using an unfiltered browser.

When prompted, enter your username and password, as provided to you by WiscNet Technical Support via email.

Click on Group on the top menu bar.

Starting at Global Group, expand IP by clicking the plus signs next to the menu items.

Doing so reveals first your group name, then your sub-group.
For example, expanding IP reveals WiscNet. Expanding WiscNet reveals MySchoolDistrict.
Note: in actual practice, MySchool District will be replaced by your institution's name.

Right-click your sub group.

The three options to which you can make adjustments to your profile are:

  • Sub-Group Profile
  • Exception URL
  • Time Profile
  • Sub-Group Profile

By changing your settings here, you can add and delete categories, choose your block page, and set options like "Google SafeSearch".

    Exception URL

By changing your settings here, you can set your bypass and blocks by individual URLs. Be sure to include the "http://" preface when adding a URL.

    Time Profile

By changing your settings here, you can add a time profile to change filtering rules depending on time of day.

Select a time at the bottom of the screen, based on a 24 hour clock. Click Apply Add.

The time profile then appears in the Current Time Profiles field. Highlight the time profile you just added and then all the other options in this box (rule, redirect, exception, filter option) become adjustable.
